| Welcome to the BEC Online
The Business Centre has performed exceptionally well over the past twelve months
and been rewarded for the effort.
In 2007 the BEC was awarded the Trophy for Best Regional BEC across Australia.
This was followed up with the winning of an Australian Government contract to
deliver Business Advisory Services to the Local Government areas of Maitland Cessnock,
Singleton, Dungog, Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter.
The contract requires the Hunter Region BEC to provide services to existing businesses
and those people who are intending starting a business. These services include
Mentoring for New Businesses, Business Planning support, Loans and Banking Products
information, Legal and Accounting services, Leasing Guidance, Government Regulations
and compliance issues, Staff Training programs, such as Customer Service and Recruitment;
working with Women in business and referring people to other BEC's across the
State and Country.
In the area of Legal and Accounting the BEC has set up a group of Professional
Advisors to support business people who require the support of an Accountant or

In the area of Marketing support the Hunter Region BEC has developed a simple
marketing plan template and has set up a working relationship with a company called
